Our client, a Property Management Group (hospitality, residential and commercial) with a range of other assets including Financial and Renewable Energy, based in the Franschhoek region is looking to appoint a candidate that will be able to take full responsibility of the Accounting / Administrative function for the company. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the property industry and across multiple asset classes, will have at least one local financial person as well as a number of national property managers reporting in to them.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Prepare trial balances.
Prepare management accounts.
Reconcile BOQ’s and Payments.
Reporting and Cash-Flow statements.
Bank accounts Management and Reconciliation.
Interest and Capital calculations.
Amortisation Schedules, Bonds and Access Bonds.
Cross Company Accounting and Loan Account management.
VAT returns and recons.
Council Electricity and Water reconciliations including Customer Billing.
Oversight, Management and eventually Preparation of Standard Leases.
Process supplier invoices and payments.
Preparation of accruals and prepayments.
Preparation of all rental invoices, levy statements, electricity and water billing.
Assist in arrears chasing.
Setting up new properties on the system and liaise with external managing agent re any requested information.
Assist in Property Letting and Sales, Advertising, Processing and Administration.
Oversee legal processes WRT property Registration, Title Deeds, Etc.
Management of Body Corporate and Home Owners Associating Administration, Rules and Management, Website Updates, including pricing updates, Platform and Booking management, etc.
Filing & scanning of all documentation and ensuring that all files are kept up to date.
Ensuring that all client, rental and leave information in files are updated regularly.
Keep database and invoicing spread sheet up to date.
Educated to a degree level and / or 5-10 years’ experience in similar role (Property Accounting background)
Good knowledge of property accounting systems as well as advanced MS Excel and Word skills.
VAT and TAX related knowledge
Strong understanding of rental invoicing and recovery calculations
Attention to detail
Ability to meet tight deadlines.
Willing and able to work on your own / manage at least one other team member and National Property Managers.
08:00 – 16:30 (Negotiable, outcomes based, can accommodate mothers with school going children, non-corporate)
