Sales Manager (CR553)

Our client, a leading meat wholesale supplier based in the Clayville, Olifantsfontein region is seeking a qualified Sales Manager to lead a team of driven Telesales and Sales Representatives.

Our ideal sales manager will have in-depth knowledge of and experience with the sales process, excelling at lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals.

We are seeking a quick learner with strong negotiating skills, and someone with a track record of success who can inspire the same in others. The role demands a leader with a sharp mind and the ability to coach, advise, motivate, or replace sales representatives to create and maintain a high-performance sales force.


  • Recruit, hire, and train sales team.

  • Oversee the sales team to ensure company quotas and standards are met by holding daily check-ins with team to set objectives for the day and monitor progress regularly.

  • Set sales goals, compare performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed.

  • Assess current team processes and procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement them.

  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.

  • Foster a competitive yet collaborative team environment.

  • Assess individual performance through observation and measurement, and suggest corrective actions as needed.

  • Create and execute strategic sales plans that expand the customer base and extends a national reach.

  • Meet with potential clients and grow long lasting relationships by understanding their needs.

  • Maintaining client relationships.

  • Answering client/ customer questions about credit terms, products, prices and availability.

  • New business development to get new clients on board.

  • Advise clients on best purchases and keep up to date and informed of the current products.

  • Understand customer needs and requirements.

  • Close sales and achieve monthly targets.

  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest.

  • Maintain and expand database of prospects.

  • Maintain GP performance.

  • Various administrative duties.


  • Grade 12/ Matric

  • Bachelor's degree/ Diploma in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Relevant Tertiary

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales

  • Strong sales management experience

  • Working with sales targets and budgets

  • Willingness to travel as a responsibility

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to lead a team to meet quotas

  • Excellent leadership skills

  • Experience setting sales goals

  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Strong numerical skills


R30 000 basic salary
