Our client in Paarl, a manufacturing concern within the Food Industry, is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage
Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage.
Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
Ordering of parts – with management confirmation
Effectively and accurately troubleshoot and make routine adjustments and repairs to packaging machinery in order to maintain production and maintenance schedules.
Disassemble machinery and equipment to determine worn or broken parts, repair or replace necessary parts by using new parts from stock or by fabricating or manufacturing new parts from stock or by fabricating or manufacturing parts to machinery or equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
Trade Tested Fitter & Turner
3- 4 years’ experience in a similar position- experience in FMCG Machinery, Plumbing, Electrical, Welding will be beneficial
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Computer literate
Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English
Strong leadership skills
Flexibility
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure
SALARY
R25 000 – R35 000
WORKING HOURS/CONDITIONS
The conditions will include working outdoors, regular evening and weekend work (attending to break downs). Normal working hours will be based on operational requirements of the business.
